Unpopular Opinions | Halloween Edition

This activity presents a set of Halloween-themed statements designed to spark conversation, encourage critical thinking, and get students comfortable expressing their opinions. Suitable for multiple levels, it helps learners practise agreeing, disagreeing, and justifying their views in a fun, seasonal context.

How to Use

1. Display or distribute the Halloween-themed statements to the class.
2. Students read each statement and decide whether they agree or disagree.
3. Invite students to share their opinions, encouraging them to explain their reasoning using simple opinion phrases (e.g., I think…, In my opinion…, I don’t agree because…).
4. For an extension, ask students to switch sides: they must now defend the opinion they originally disagreed with.
5. Continue with group or pair discussions to deepen the conversation and build confidence in expressing contrasting views.
