Persuade Me! | Modals

Persuade Me! & Modals is an interactive Black Friday-themed activity for A2–B1 learners that combines speaking practice with modal verbs. Students use persuasive language to convince their partners to buy devices, reinforcing grammar and communication skills through role-play.

How to Use

1. Present each slide showing a device along with 3 of its useful features.
2. Ask students to persuade their partners to buy the device using modal verbs (e.g., should, must, could).
3. Provide the useful sentence starters to guide their arguments.
4. Encourage pairs to role-play both the seller and the buyer to practise speaking and modal usage.
5. Rotate devices or partners to allow varied practice and enhance engagement.
