Love Puzzle | Conditionals

Love Puzzle | Conditionals is a creative Valentine’s Day speaking activity that helps students practise the first, second, and third conditionals in a fun and meaningful way. Using themed sentence starters, learners complete conditional sentences with their own ideas while developing both grammar accuracy and fluency. It works well as a warm-up or focused grammar practice for A2–B1 students.

How to use

1. Give students Valentine’s-themed conditional sentence starters.
2. Students finish the sentences using their own ideas.
3. Learners compare answers in pairs or small groups and discuss their choices.

Extension

Students create a short Valentine’s story that includes as many of their completed conditional sentences as possible.
