First Conditional Warm-Ups

These warm-ups help students practice the first conditional in a simple, communicative way. Learners complete sentence starters with their own ideas and use them to talk about everyday topics such as routines, favourite places, summer plans, weekends, and workspaces. Ideal for quick practice at A1–A2 level.

How to Use

1. Give students the sentence starters.
2. Students finish the sentences with their own ideas.
3. They then share and compare their ideas in pairs or small groups.
4. Encourage follow-up questions to keep the conversation going.
5. The goal is to practice 1st conditional structures while discussing:
   • my daily routine
   • my favourite city spots
   • my summer destinations
   • my weekend plans
   • my workspace stuff
